CONCHAL FORMER REPOSITIONING AND FOAM MODIFICATION
The conchal crus, one of the more challenging ear deformities, can only be non-surgically remedied with the EarWellâ„¢ Infant Ear Correction System. The standard protocol identified in the EarWell Training Video is typically sufficient to complete the correction. The following videos, however, identify several device customizations that are beyond the standard protocol and can be instrumental to the treatment outcome.
Foam Attachment to the Conchal Former Vertical Shaft
It may become necessary to bolster the width of the Conchal Former vertical shaft to fill an expanded concha, to prevent Conchal Former movement in the concha, or to exert additional pressure on a specific area of the concha wall. The following video demonstrates how those challenges can be approached through an alternative placement of the Conchal Foam.
Trimmed Foam to Reduce Applied Vertical Pressure
When enhanced Foam pressure is required, but a complete Conchal Former Foam is not desirable, the Foam can be trimmed to accommodate the necessary pressure.
Targeting a Specific Area for Enhanced Conchal Former Pressure
As demonstrated in the video below, an ear with high conchal crus has forced forward displacement of the Conchal Former. The Conchal Former is repositioned to exert pressure in the desired location by anchoring it to the concha vertical wall with a medical-grade adhesive.
