The conchal crus is a raised, cartilaginous ridge crossing the mid-portion of the conchal bowl that divides the ear in half and may extend to the full height of the vertical conchal wall.
It impacts the aesthetics of the concha cymba and more importantly, frequently accounts for an increase in the conchal-mastoid angle, resulting in prominence of the ear (See video for measuring Prominent Ear).
Although it may present singularly, it most often is found in association with other deformities (See Mixed Deformities).
